GIFD – Project 1: eBook

When I started my GIFD project, it was met with warm reception. However, as I posted my mini-updates, the traction died down in visitor count and the original post still held more views. Therefore, I’ve created this post! Keep up to date with my progress by coming back to this page which will mostly just […]
Let’s Be GIFD Together
Taking a metaphorical deep breath for this one. Oh, and some F-bombs are dropped. So, kids, don’t tell your parents.
Looking back at the past few months, I have a lot to be excited for: My wife and I’s business, The Confetti Bar, recently got a physical home on North Main St. in our home town; My title has been changed at Time to Save from Lead Front-End Developer to Creative Director; My weight is down about 40lbs since this summer—down 80lbs from a few years ago—while building muscle, eating healthy and generally feeling better all around.
And today, I’m pissed at myself.
Assassin’s Creed and What’s Wrong with the Gaming Industry
Lately, gamers have been getting hit hard in the media for… well, whatever hot button’s being pressed today. Seems like there’s a new way to shine a negative light at video games every day in the news. Now, AAA game studios are in the hot seat for releasing AAA games that are broken, incomplete, and, […]
Thirty Years of Moments
I woke up to the early morning sunrise as it slowly grew across the floor in my bedroom. Usually, I would have slept in or watched cartoons, because that’s what Saturday mornings are for. But this morning, I had the urge to go for a walk. After quickly getting dressed, I quietly left the house to not wake up the rest of my family and started my stroll. The chilly, autumn air filled my lungs and cooled my warm body as the golden leaves slowly fell. This walk would take me down our long driveway and onto the main road, passing by the large sand pile, the baseball field and, finally, my elementary school. From the parking lot, my once white house was then glowing in the sun’s golden light, shining my way for the 5-10min walk back. I told myself that I would remember this moment forever.
That was a third of my life ago; a 10-year-old version of myself in up-state Vermont.
Change Your Perspective
When you’re deeply focused on one thing, it’s hard to see anything beyond what’s in front of you.

How To Write A Sexist Headline
With another September still visible in our mental rear-view mirrors, we’ve all had a chance to go through the ritual of remembering where we were and what we were doing on September 11th, 2001. Emotionally impacting every U.S. citizen, the events that day are impossible to forget. So, it’s with great pride that 1 World […]
October 1st, 2014
Welcome back, October. You have been missed.
Eight Months Later
Well, this year has pretty much flown by. And, based on my last post, I really haven’t kept up with my promises to myself for scheduling of posts. But, life changes. Instead of trying to focus on creating for myself, I spent most of the year helping others working on their creations. A reminder that I […]
New Year, New Changes
2013 was a year full of changes. […]
And with all the changes going on with and around me, I come back to this blog. My lonely blog, which has been so neglected, two years worth of posts show up in a listing of my ten most recent ones.
Hyper Light Drifter
While backing a famous game designer such as Keiji Inafune and his Mighty No. 9 project is exciting to be a part of, what’s more amazing is backing unknown indie developers when they create something even more special.
Mighty No. 9 by Keiji Inafune
Almost 3 years after leaving Capcom, Keiji Inafune has returned to the gaming spotlight. His company, comcept, Inc., has started a Kickstarter for a new gaming franchise. And the subject looks very familiar.
